OBJECTIVES FOR NOVEMBER (smart)

  1. Improve students’ knowledge and understanding of what skills they need to maximise their career opportunities and the value of continuous development (as per: “I understand what professional development is.”; “I think that the skills I am developing while working for the UWSU will be useful to me in future career opportunities.”)
  2. Measure: increase students’ knowledge by 20% as assessed by comparing the answers to the statement above collected via pre- and post-attendance questionnaires.
  3. A: provide access to resources and relevant content in the programme.
  4. R: align the content of the sessions with the specific requirements of their role at the UWSU.
  5. T: achieve this objective within 4 months.
  6. Improve students’ practical skills and competencies within their role at the UWSU, allowing them to succeed in their current and future jobs.
  7. Measure: 60% of respondents of the post-attendance survey will score “agree” or “strongly agree” to the statement “I can self-assess what competencies and skills I need to work on in order to enhance my employability.”
  8. A: Provide practical training sessions and opportunities for skill application.
  9. R: Focus on skills directly applicable to participants' roles.
  10. T: achieve this objective within the two-week Training Programme delivered in November 2024.
  11. Encourage students to stay update with relevant career opportunities while at the University of Westminster.
  12. Measure: 80% of respondents of the post-attendance survey will score “agree” or “strongly agree” to the statement “I know where to find career-related information via the UWSU.”; I am aware of other activities I can participate in to improve my employability skills.”; “I intend to participate in more employability skill development activities.”
  13. A: Inform students about how to access career support via the UWSU and CES, new or future employability opportunities.
  14. R: Ensure the content produced and the offers created by the Employability Team are relevant to students and comply with the latest standards for entry-level job seekers.
  15. T: achieve this objective within the two-week Training Programme delivered in November 2023.
