JOB PURPOSE

We’re hiring Union Office Assistants (Team Leader application is separate) to support the Students’ Union Welcome Desks at Marylebone and Harrow. You’ll manage enquiries, respond to emails, welcome students, provide guidance, and maintain an organised, professional desk. The role also involves supporting SU activities, campaigns, and key events like Welcome and Elections. Indicate your campus preference (Marylebone/Harrow); occasional work at other campuses may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming environment for students/guests visiting the office.
  • Responding to queries via phone, email, face-to-face interaction, and social media.
  • Supporting Students’ Union full-time staff with administrative tasks and day-to-day office operations.
  • Assisting the Activities Team with administrative support for Sports Clubs and Societies, including room bookings.
  • Acting as a front-facing UWSU ambassador by supporting outreach initiatives, including promoting services such as Advice and Wellbeing, running pop-up stalls, and welcoming students and external guests.
  • Assisting with major Students’ Union periods and events, including Welcome Week and Elections.

  1. Basic understanding of university and Students’ Union services, or willingness to learn quickly to effectively signpost students.
  2. Previous experience in a customer-facing or team environment is desirable but not essential.
