Location

Based primarily at The Hideaway on Regent Street Campus, with occasional shifts at other campuses as needed.

Working Hours

Approximately 5 hours per week. Shifts vary weekly, spanning day, evening, and night hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends during term time

Salary

£12.21 per hour

JOB PURPOSE

  • Be a part of the heart of Regent Street Campus! The Hideaway, our vibrant hub for Starbucks, bar service, and exciting events, is looking for enthusiastic Venue Assistants to join our team. This is your chance to contribute to a dynamic atmosphere where students connect and relax.
  • As a Venue Assistant, you'll play a key role in creating a welcoming environment for our diverse community. You'll craft Starbucks beverages, contribute to a lively bar atmosphere, support exciting events, and contribute to the smooth daily operation of The Hideaway.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customer Engagement: Provide exceptional service to students and visitors, creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere.
  • Barista Duties: Prepare and serve Starbucks beverages to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Bar Service: Serve drinks, manage bar stock, and ensure responsible alcohol service, contributing to a positive and vibrant bar atmosphere.
  • Event Support: Contribute to the success of events hosted at The Hideaway, from setup to execution, including assisting with event logistics and customer service.
  • Venue Support: Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the venue, including the bar area.
  • Teamwork & Support: Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations. Support the Team Leader as needed.
  • Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including responsible service of alcohol.

Qualifications

  1. Previous experience in hospitality or a customer-facing role is preferred but not required. Barista experience is a plus.

  3. Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills quickly, including drink recipes and bar procedures.
