JOB PURPOSE
The Venues Assistant plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of The Hideaway, helping to create a welcoming and engaging environment for students and visitors. Venue Assistants support café and bar service, assist with the delivery of events, and contribute to maintaining high standards of customer service and venue presentation.
Working as part of the venue team, Venue Assistants support Team Leaders during shifts and assist with operational tasks to ensure the smooth running of the space.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for students and visitors.
- Prepare and serve café beverages and bar drinks in line with venue standards, maintaining knowledge of drink specifications, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Support the smooth running of café and bar operations during shifts, ensuring service areas remain organised and operational.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of the venue, including bar areas, customer spaces, and storage areas.
- Receive and organise deliveries, support stock rotation, and maintain organised stock storage areas.
- Support stock checks and basic inventory tasks to ensure products are available and stored correctly.
- Assist with the setup, delivery, and pack-down of events hosted at The Hideaway, including preparing the space and supporting event organisers during the event.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including responsible alcohol service and reporting incidents where necessary.
- Work collaboratively with Team Leaders and other Venue Assistants to ensure the venue operates efficiently.
- Engage with training and development opportunities to build skills across different areas of venue operations and support progression within the venue team.
